This course will help participants to prepare for the Certified Fire Plan Examiner certification based on the job performance requirement (JPRs) of the 2024 edition of NFPA 1030.

This instructor-led training contains an overview of the minimum skills and knowledge of the fire
inspector based on the job performance requirement (JPRs) of the 2024 edition of NFPA 1030,
Standard for Professional Qualifications for Fire Prevention Program Positions. This course will
help participants to perform their jobs, along with additional study, assist them in preparing for
certification.

Course Objectives include

• Describe the Fire Plan Review process
• Identify and navigate applicable codes and standards for life safety features during a plan review assignment
• Describe the components of a typical plan set and interpret basic plans, floor plans, and shop drawings
• Describe construction types and determine the construction classification of a space or building depicted on a set of plans
• Describe occupancy classification types and determine the occupancy classification of a building or space depicted on a set of plans
• Evaluate a fire plan set for its compliance with the current NFPA code set documents
